Life Groups at Resurrection Park Slope foster smaller communities within our congregation where the good news of Jesus Christ is experienced. They serve a threefold purpose:
- They are the primary place for pastoral and mutual care.
- They are the primary place where members can identify and develop their spiritual gifts.
- They are the primary way we reach out to serve the needs of our greater community.
While all of our groups share these purposes, our groups are diverse in scope. Some groups are geared towards women, others towards men. Some are based on neighborhood affiliation or shared interests. Some reflect the stage of life of their members. Groups meet weekly, bi-weekly or monthly. There’s a group for everyone at Resurrection Park Slope, especially since they are designed to grow and multiply making safe spaces for new friends to join.

Life Group FAQs
What can I expect from a typical Life Group?
A group of 6-12 adults who are:
- committed to studying the scriptures and praying for each other and our world;
- willing to meet together on a regular basis; and
- serving together in their church and communities.
Can anyone participate in a RPS Life Group?Yes! Life Groups are for members of RPS and regular attenders. While you can join a group at any time, we encourage you to sign up in September or January.
May I participate in a group even though I’m exploring the Christian faith?
Yes! Groups are open to people no matter where they are in their Christian journey. We also offer groups designed specifically to help people who are exploring the Good News of Jesus Christ. They are offered periodically throughout the year.
When and where do small groups meet?
Life Groups meet at a variety of times throughout the week, mostly in people’s homes and in the evenings. Some groups meet weekly, some bi-monthly, some monthly and meetings generally last an hour and a half to two hours. Roughly following the academic calendar, groups meet from the Fall to the early Summer.
