Building on the recent success of Via Dolorosa, the Arts Ministry is excited to announce our next project!
We are continuing our theme of the “stations” with the “Stations of the Nativity.” This will be a series of artistic depictions celebrating the Incarnation of Jesus Christ. The object of the “stations” is to help Christians embark on a spiritual pilgrimage during this year’s season of Advent.
So, artists of Resurrection Brooklyn, while the “Stations of the Nativity” might be a new way to think of it, it is time for you to start thinking! What piece of art – written, crafted, performed – might you create for this event?
Collaborating with the Holy Spirit each artist uses their artistic gifts to illuminate the Gospel Story and all the art we create is used to express our love for God and the joy we share in Him. All art submitted will be available for purchase at the time of the gallery showing, and while selling the art is not the main point of the show, it not only helps support the creative community in our church but also the Mercy Team ministry helping those in need in our congregation.
While the details are still being worked out, the gallery event will likely be in early December, during an early evening at the Resurrection Jay Street offices, including light refreshments, giving guests the opportunity to visit with the artists.

Resurrection Brooklyn’s Art Ministry seeks to encourage and support the visual and performing artists in our church network and broader community. The Arts Ministry at Resurrection Park Slope, is committed to Influencing and Changing the Culture of Resurrection Brooklyn, Park Slope, and Brooklyn. Historically, the church has been the greatest patron of the arts; more recently we’ve lost that. The Arts Ministry strives to recapture some of that prominence. The Arts Ministry is a place to build relationships between artists and the community, based on God-pleasing artistic endeavors.
